About Soi Dog Foundation
Soi Dog Foundation (Soi Dog) was established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, to help the street dogs and cats who had no one else to care for them. Over 70,000 strays roamed the island, with the numbers growing alarmingly due to a lack of spay and neuter programs to control the population. Soi Dog was created to provide a humane and sustainable solution to managing the stray population and to address their medical needs. Funding then, as it does now, came entirely from individuals who shared, and continue to share, the vision of our founders.
Soi Dog’s Mission Statement
To improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Asia, resulting in better lives for both the animal and human communities, to create a society without homeless animals, and to ultimately end animal cruelty.

Antony “I’ve chosen this charity because it means a lot to me personally. I visited Phuket, Thailand back in 2016 with my partner on holiday with and to visit Soi Dog and volunteer for a week. At the time we had no intention of bringing a dog back to the UK with us but after being surrounded by them for the week we felt it was the right thing to do. Soi Dog Foundation has done tremendous work over the years which continues to this day; helping stray cats and dogs injured on the street and saving them from the disgusting dog meat trade. My Soi Dog Whimsy has now been in the UK for years and you can see what a beautiful dog she has transformed into by clicking here.”
