England, Wales and Scotland have introduced a law that prohibits the sale of e-cigarettes to under 18’s and we expect to see similar laws introduced in Northern Ireland very soon. As we are 100% online this makes our job of verifying peoples age that little bit more difficult.
While we were always able to verify the age and identity of our customers we wanted to automate the process further. Our new system will improve the process allowing for quicker and more reliable verification while also reducing the manual intervention required by our support team. We believe this will improve the quality of service we provide customers and contribute to building a safer vaping community in the UK.
How will we verify your age?
We have partnered with GBG PLC who own and operate ID3Global. ID3 are the worlds leading experts in identity verification with the ability to check your age via the following data sources:
– Electoral Roll
– ID3 Aggregated Data
– Credit Report (soft check, won’t show on your credit file or affect your creditworthiness)
What do I need to do?
A lot of our customers won’t even notice this rollout as their accounts may already be verified or the verification will simply happen during the next time they place an order. This would be the ideal outcome in our eyes. We just need you to make sure that the billing information you enter matches what would be on your passport or the electoral roll.
Why is my order pending verification?
When an order is pending verification it means all our automated checks were unable to verify your age. When this happens manual intervention is required and we will need you to enter your passport number in the account details area. This can also be done upon registration which means once you’re verified that’s it.
As always our support team is on hand to deal with any orders that are pending verification.
